Neh 4:6 So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work.
This is an excerpt from the book of Nehemiah about how Israel accomplished much in the midst of adversity. Today the men and women of Payson First Baptist banded together and got a lot of work done. Wow! I am just thrilled to death at how much the Lord continues to allow us to do, even during a so-called "recession". The men and women came with hearts and minds determined to work, and with so much they could all be doing, they made the church look great! While the ladies worked on cleaning and organizing the inside of the church, we men tackled the "cottonwood forest" out back. At one end of the church, Darrell seemed to have endeared himself to the elderly ladies that live in the apartments behind us by cutting the weeds down.(We've got to find him a wife soon. He had to turn down several proposals today;) At the other end, a group of guys shoveled, chopped, picked, dynamited, and leaned on shovels in an attempt to vanquish all unworthy cottonwood saplings. We were all either picking or shoveling and attempting to prove our manliness, when Ethan turned and looked at my, umm, rather puny pick-ax, (hey it was all I had) and in scorn, said, "whose it that?" To which I promptly replied, " my wife said I could use hers."
Thanks to all who came and helped today and in the middle of the week. I know not all could be here but thanks anyhow. Looking forward to tomorrow as we continue to deal with the "Old Paths". Expecting everybody to be there.
